starting points:
making art practice accessible & sustainable,
for mental health & neurodiversity

this informal workshop/discussion session will draw from Freddie’s research & practice, to explore tools for making art practice more sustainable as a neurodivergent person, and/or a person with mental health challenges.

Freddie will share insights from his 2021 DYCP research project on the following topics, with short small group discussion exercises:

  • types of work vs your capacity

  • scheduling, time & energy management

  • motivation, tasks / clients, & buddying

Tools will be shared for the following topics:

  • access support worker - creating a job description

  • making an access rider

There will be space for a bigger group discussion, as each person’s process & access needs will be different, its great to hear from eachother.

Max. 20 participants / 3hrs inc. break

Freddie’s experience is from the UK arts scene - if relevant, he can share funding & support routes for the UK. If the workshop is outside the UK, Freddie would love to collaborate with a local artist co-facilitator who can feed in their experience & knowledge of the local funding & support landscape.

This workshop is delivered in English. Please consider providing a co-host who can sign, and/or translate to another language depending on the group.
